His research laboratory was instrumental in isolating Thymosin Beta-4 (Tβ4) and identifying its active sites, demonstrating that the specific 7-amino acid actin-binding domain (amino acids 17–23), which corresponds to TB-500, is sufficient to promote wound healing, angiogenesis, and tissue repair in animal models comparable to the full-length molecule.
