Predrag Sikiric, MD, PhD, is a Professor at the Department of Pharmacology, School of Medicine, University of Zagreb, Croatia. Dr. Sikiric is the lead researcher who originally isolated BPC-157 from human gastric juice in 1993. He is responsible for the vast majority of the existing literature (over 80% of published studies) on the peptide. His work established the cytoprotection/organoprotection framework, demonstrating BPC-157's pleiotropic effects on organ healing (stomach, liver, muscle, tendon, nerve), the nitric oxide system, and the brain-gut axis.
